Hi,
my first post to KDE forums so apologies for any unobserved etiquette. ![]() I have a weird problem that when I tell KDE to suspend on the "laptop lid close" button, I just get a blank screen when I resume. It seems to be operating fine, because for example I can switch to VT1, do a blind login and issue 'reboot'. (Ctrl-Alt-Backspace in X does not restore the screen.) Now what is weird is that if I type "pm-suspend" into a root Konsole in KDE, then I don't get the blank screen problem when I resume, it works fine. If I tell KDE to do nothing when I press the laptop lid button, then pressing the button just turns the screen off, and it comes back on when I let go. So I don't think the problem is with some other ACPI event being triggered by the laptop lid button. So what I'm wondering is... what does KDE do to suspend that seems to kill the video on resume? I'm a moderately good C/C++ programmer, so I don't mind getting dirty with the code in order to examine this. My laptop is an HP/Compaq nx8220, which has an ATI Radeon Mobility X600, and I'm using the open source driver 6.12.2, kernel 2.6.29.1 and KDE 3.5.10. Thanks in advance for any help! Cheers. |
