I'm must be missing some trick here because I don't see any posting for problems with doing this.

In KDE 4.1.3 as a User what is the appropriate path for building an Index for Application Manuals in KDE Help Ctr?

I've used ./usr/share/ and ./usr/share/doc also ./var/cache/susehelp. It starts with a request for root pwd then goes to finish without any details and nothing is added to the "Search Options" or "Contents" tabs.

You may need to install "htdig" if it is not already installed.

Yes Thank you it was there, I did a refresh and added the 'dev' package. I have to spend some time again with that ... the last was considerable. The pathway is still a question. The Kdevelop Assistant (KDE3) proved fruitful.

I would like to add that under "Content/Application Manuals" there appears a top tier of categories but most of the subs produce a pop-up says the document does not exist. So I'm confused as to why/how the list is produced with malformed paths. Somehow I have a lot of KDE3 doc's in there that have working paths and serve at least for some answers but not knowing the history or obsolescence to KDE4 is a small problem.

I'm finding out that information is plentiful ... knowing where it's located or loaded and how to bind that collection seems to be the challenge at the moment.

Thanks Again
