Ark Support for gz Gzip files

Wed Jun 10, 2009 7:49 pm
I recently switched from Ubuntu to Kubuntu on my main machine. It seems that Ark only supports reading and extracting .gz archives. Is there any way to create and edit Gzip archives with Ark?

You may need to install other utilities because it definitely supports more than that.
You will need gzip, tar, bzip for minimal OSS format support.

I have all three of those installed. I can add and remove files from tar.gz archives but not from .gz archives.

Confirmed that modifying .gz files does not work on Trunk. Please file a bug report if one does not already exist at bugs.kde.org
