Don't know if this should be filed as a bug, but when I open Ark with Klauncher all the icons for adding files/folders are grayed out. I can only open an archive already created before (like .tar.gz I downloaded from internet) and then the "add file/folder" options are colored. I remove the contents of the archive, and then add my file, and create new archive. Wierd. Why do I have to do it by opening another archive in the first place, not just "add file--> save archive" ?

Try to press "New".

New lets me only choose archives (even when in the selection box I have "All supported files")
that's why I'm asking about it. Any file which is not a package is not displayed in the "New.." window. So basically, it behaves just like the "Open..." dialog. |

After you've pressed "New", Ark opens a Save dialog (not Open
![]() (At least that's how I think it should work; I don't usually create archives this way).

Wow! Sorry then
![]() It really works, but it is still a little confusing. Most of the data projects in any computer program (or at least i think so) involve adding files, and then choosing filename of the resulting file. I'll think of filing a bug against this. |

No need to apologize, I also found it pretty strange. Please post a link to the bug report here when you've submitted it.
