QWT-4.2.0

Thu Sep 24, 2009 5:45 pm
Has anyone installed qwt on their system? Can you please provide detailed install instructions geared towards someone who is new to Linux? I've been trying to install this and get nothing but errors.

I have attempted to do the following:
1) cd /home/.../qwt-4.2.0
qmake qwt.pro
"Failure to open file: /home/.../qwt-4.2.0/Makefile"

2) cd /home/.../qwt-4.2.0
make
"collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make:*** [qwt-4.2.0] Error 1"

I tried to go into the designer directory and:
cd /home/.../qwt-4.2.0/designer
qmake qwtplugin.pro
"QGDict::hashKeyString: Invalid null key"

I think I have set all my environment variables properly, yet I still get these errors. I have done all that I can think of doing. Any ideas?

Thanks

I managed to build it fine.

try using a path that does not have the "..." in it, as QMake may not like it. In addition, I just ran "qmake" instead of "qmake qwt.pro"

I placed the "..." in my post because I left out several additional (sub) directories. I don't actually have a directory with that name. I tried running qmake and qmake dwt.pro -> both had the same negative outcome

Can you check the permissions of the directory involved? You need read-write access.

I'm attempting a work around on this issue so I cannot check permissions at the moment. I'm pretty sure I have RW access. I hope to know whether or not the work around will work in a day or two and will then confirm I have RW access.
