I regularly use GTK applications like Firefox, Eclipse, and others in my KDE environment. One annoying bug that I can't find anything about online is the way mouse clicks often fail to register even though a field will obtain focus, requiring me to hit the space bar to register a click.
Take, for example, the Eclipse preferences window. I navigate to General > Appearance > Colors and Fonts, then select a font to modify. I click the "Change" button, and it receives focus, executes the "button down" action to show that it's been pressed, but the click doesn't register and the button up action is not executed. It's not until I hit the space bar that the button press finally registers. In addition, changing focus to another button can be very aggravating and sometimes won't work at all. Is this something others have seen? I surely can't be the only one with this problem. Thanks! |

For future reference the solution was to run this before Eclipse:
export GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=true |

You're not the only one facing the problem.
![]() I had the exact same issue with Eclipse too, but didn't bother to to deal with it until now. Your solution is the first I found and seems to work for me. Thanks for sharing it! ![]() |
