I have a desktop machine that has evolved over 5 years from SUSE 9.3 and KDE 3.1 though to its current recent upgrade to.
OS: Linux 2.6.31.12-0.1-desktop i686 System: openSUSE 11.2 (i586) KDE: 4.3.1 "release 6" Is there a script to remove redundant tools/libs once an upgrade is complete from one version to another? For example: Looking through YAST2's installed file list I see I have kdelibs3 still installed at 38.2Mb and also kdelibs4 at 13.7Mb. Can I assume that all kde3 files are redundant? |

If you are still using KDE 3 applications, then KDELibs3 and Qt3 are both still required.

Thank you for your prompt reply. So if I click 'delete' in YAST and there is nothing I want in the pop-up de-install box the code is redundant?
It would be nice if there was a script to identify these items rather than having to enter search terms in the YAST installation window. |

Make sure to check on the 'Installation Status' tab for what YaST will do. It should only list one item if you are removing KDELibs3.
