Hello,
There're times I have to switch off my computer after a given time. I haven't found this feature in KDE apps and plasmoids - I miss it much. To do this you have to grant root permission. I solved it as follows: in terminal I'm typing for example "sudo shutdown -h +60" and nice notification appears. It works. I don't know - maybe I'm wrong and it works out of the box. So please correct me or give me another solution. I'd like to submit it as brainstorm idea but first I want to confirm it. cheers, Wojtek ![]() |

I guess there are another solutions. In the profiles of the energy settings you can specify a time after which the system is shutdown. And there is a Amarok script.
So there is a way apart from the command line. Maybe it makes sense to add this option to the shutdown plasmoid or the dialog which pops up when hitting the shutdown button. |

thanks
![]() but don't you think it should be a part of the KDE core? There's a plasmoid for switching off and login off - and I think this feature could be incorporated there ![]() |
