I've a problem with the Mikroblogning*-widget on my plasma-netbook desktop.
Every time it makes a request to the twitter-api I get a dialog asking for the password, which is about every five minutes or when I switch tab in the widget. Both the username and password is filled in so I assume it uses the kwallet to get it. The problem exists on both Archlinux+Chakra and openSuSE+KDE4.4_factory. How do I get Mikroblogning to just login with the password it already have from kwallet? *) I'm not sure it the widget-name is localized, but it looks Danish. |

I would consider this a bug, can you please file a report at bugs.kde.org? I didn't find any preexisting bugs for this when I checked, except for two that only applied to the OpenDesktop widget.

I have a similar issue with that widget, if not using kwallet fir storing passwords, the microblogging widget won't remember the twitter password, I will have every time to go the the widget settings, set the password again and then click on the different columns on the widget to refresh the latests posts (ie: click replies, then messages and then timeline to get all the posts on the widget).
I have searched for this on bugs.kde.org but no luck, is this the expected behavior for this widget when not using kwallet or should I go and open a bug report ? |

Please file a bug report, as the widget should gracefully degrade in functionality if KWallet is unavailable.

ehm, is it normal that I'm asked the Kwallet password every time I log into KDE, and after that I'm asked the password for the Microblogging plasmoid anyways? (the widget only shows the "configure" button)

This usually occurs because you have the wallet set to close when apps are no longer using it, or after a specified time period. These options can be controlled from System Settings > Account Details > KDE Wallet.

That's not the case here, I haven't set any of the "Close wallet" in the configuration...
anyways, if I set it to "close when no app is using it", shouldn't it be open all the time as the widget keeps being on the desktop? |

The widget disconnects from KWallet after retrieving it's information, so thus to KWallet appears to have exited.
If you have all three unchecked, then check the Access Control tab, to ensure nothing has been altered here.

Everything's fine there too, "Always allow" on all lines
It's not a critical problem, I don't even use Identi.ca so much, so if it's only my problem...well, forget about it ![]() |
