After editing the kde menu then selecting save, I get the "updating system configuration" popup, but it repeatedly updates, gets to 100% then starts again, never completing. I cannot find anything on this subject. Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to correct the problem?

Simply closing the dialog through Cancel is completely safe. Run the command "kbuildsycoca4" in Konsole before clicking cancel however to ensure that everything is updated.

The output of that command is completely harmless and can be safely ignored. Your menu changes should now have been propagated successfully.

When I first checked for the changes, nothing was changed. I recently restarted kde and all is right. Thanks for the input.
