I would like to clear/cleanup cache, history, cookies... any user data, from Konqueror and Akregator whenever the application exits or I logoff. FF and IE have one location to clear everything, plus options to clear on the closing of the app, plus addon's to manage privacy concerns.
I see in Konqueror's settings there's a clean cache and remove cookies. I found a search result that said 'kdesu -s' needed to be run to forget passwords. I'm not sure about forms. Also from searching there appears to be several places to go to clear history. I don't see anything in Akregator's settings. I started writing a bash script to clear these files, so I would only need to go to one place for consistency, efficiency, and time savings. I spotted bug bug 148457, and it talked about a "privacy KDE Control Module". But does that even exist in kde4? Ubuntu thread showed this image of the KDE Privacy Control Center. Is that in KDE 4? Did I just miss an option in KDE to cleanup Konqueror and Akregator, and KDE's applications in general? Is there a resource that is available that describes KDE application's files? I did find this script that seems very comprehensive. Environment: kdebase4 opensuse 11.2 Thank you. |

Note that the cleaning script you have found appears to be *highly* invasive, and due to the nature of the contained commands should NEVER be run while a KDE session is active. Also note that some actions taken by this script will be reversed by your package manager when updating packages.
