hi,

Is there a way in KDE4 to start applications in a specific desktop via the command line?

I'm running Virtualbox due to the necessity of using a couple of Windoze programs. I can start the appliance through the CLI, however I would like to additionally specify that it should start on "Desktop 3".

Eventually I will have Virtualbox start automatically on boot, on a specific desktop.

Any information will be greatly appreciated!

You can use
Code: Select all
kstart --desktop <number> command

for that, see kstart --help for more information.

Another option is to set a window rule for Virtualbox, System Settings -> Look & Feel -> Window Behavior -> Window-Specific.
