How to add ~/bin to KDE-application read PATH

However, when I add ~/bin to the PATH in a konsole, this does not get picked up by Krusader (and other KDE applications). Therefore: What is the correct way to permanently add ~/bin to the PATH in such a way that KDE-applications such as Krusader respect it? Erik
