hello all,
I would like to be able to use a Compose file to customize the way my key-combos (in particular those involving dead keys) are translated into typed characters. I have made my own custom Compose file for GTK applications at /usr/share/X11/locale/en_US.UTF-8/Compose and this allows me to have '+c => ç while keeping '+t => 't (rather than t-acute or t-cedilla), just like the US-International keyboard available on Windows. However, I have not been able to do an analogous trick for KDE apps... despite copying the above Compose file into ~/.XCompose . As a result, I've been reluctant to use KDE apps, and do almost everything using a combination of Firefox and emacs, which is okay but seems unnecessary. :-p Any ideas? Gustavo |
