Hello,
I'd like to start with saying that I'm and ardous fan of KDE and I'm really happy to have such an env to work with. Thus, kudos to all developers contributing to this briliant idea. But there is something that drives me mad and I'm really depressed of that, and that never happens with Gnome apps as far as I can remember. KDE loses settings for its apps quite often, and that is something unacceptable. Examples: Kate sessions, despite being saved, reset the whole configuration of a session. If I set up plugins like file browser and tab module they get disabled when I do not close Kate before system shutdown. I need to close it first and than Shutdown from [K] menu, otherwise "goodbye session". Amarok gets its interface reset if I don't close it before I shutdown. Database changes don't get saved in case of a crash. Playlists and scores are lost as well. KNetwork Manager sucks. It rarely connects automatically to desired networks in range despite the option "connect automatically" checked. When a crash happens, after a restart network get "Unmanaged" and the only way to fix this is reboot. But even then sometimes I can't simply select desired network to connect with (even though they're listed in tray icon menu), I have to add a new network connection and only this button is clickable, other list positions do not react. Sound randomly after shutdowns and restarts. KDE plasma desktop like to get lost as well. Is there anyway to change that? Maybe I'm doing something wrong but such things should not happen :/ There's no intention to flame here, I'm just really tired because I can't live like that ![]() |
