KDE mounting microsd card as read-only

I have a microsd card. Whenever I try to mount it through KDE, it always is mounted as read-only. I assume this is a HAL problem, but I can't figure out what it might be. Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you checked the output in "dmesg" or /var/log/messages? The file system on the microsd card may be damaged and need checking.
