Running openSUSE 11.3 with kde 4.5.2 desktop. Tried to install Clamav using yast and am getting nowhere. The files yast found were put into kde3 directory for a start. OK I am new to Linux but surely getting Clamav or similar reliable virus scanning software to run should not be such a challenge. Please could somebody help or point me to How To wiki.

Still not quite there but tried Klamav beta and this can be run. No daemon that I can find and if I try to set up autoscan I am told I must load a module "dazuko". Now this seems to be proprietary software and may also require me to build a new kernel. Surely there must be an easier route to virus protection. Advice/help would be much appreciated. Budgie2 |

Moved to Other KDE Software.
Your lack of response here is probably because 1. ClamAV is not a KDE Application (although the front-end is built on the KDE Platform) 2. Most Linux users don't use anti-virus software. I suggest that you check http://klamav.sourceforge.net/klamavwik ... /Main_Page and see if it answers any of your questions. If not, the openSUSE forum would probably be a better place to post your questions.
