first off, sorry if i posted this in the wrong forum area. i tried to look around for a more suitable sub-forum, but i failed. if it is in the wrong section, can someone kindly move it to the correct area? thanks in advance.

ok, my problem is this: i started translating at userbase.kde.org in spanish, started with "common tasks", since i thought it would be easy (i thought i had to start from scratch, never mind...) and, so far, i've made progress, but the formatting in some sections is just plain wrong and i honestly don't know why. this is the page translated to spanish: http://userbase.kde.org/Common_Tasks/es if you look at the first subsection "when common tasks feel strange" you'll notice what i'm talking about.

and the other thing is: "file management on steroids" doesn't really have a good spanish translation that conveys the message that expression is intended for, so i was wondering if, as a translator, one has "artistic freedom" to try and convey the message in the best way possible without doing a literal translation.

PS: i've been using kubuntu for about a week and KDE = best thing since sliced bread, kudos to all involved.

EDIT: actually, disregard my first problem, i fixed the formatting. it seems all i needed was a little more attention to detail ( )

Yes, I understand that sometimes a literal translation is, at best, inappropriate. The important thing is to communicate the intention of the original. If a very different Spanish phrase communicates it better, use that.
