Hi
I run KDE 4.5.4 on Pclinuxos 2010, up to date using synaptic. Recently the KGpg wizard started to load every time I boot. I think it may have been after a Thunderbird update, but not sure. However I no longer use an email client and haven't used the keys for a long time. I looked in synaptic to uninstall KGpg but it will take kdeutils4 with it, and I don't know what that contains, and am assuming I might need it. Is there any way I can prevent the wizard from loading? Many thanks. |

After closing the wizard, check to see if KGpg is still running. If it is, try closing it. Once closed, make sure no "kgpg" processes remain by using System Activity.

How do I check to see if it still runnning? I looked in System Services in PCC and can't see KGpg listed.
Thanks |

In this case, you are fine if you cannot see it. Next, try looking in ~/.local/share/autostart and ~/.kde4/Autostart for anything kgpg related.
Also, check /usr/share/autostart/ for anything kgpg related.

/usr/share/autostart gives me:
# KDE config file [Desktop Entry] Type=application etc etc" A long file follows. ~/.local/share/autostart has nothing in it ~/.kde4/Autostart gives me: "noblank.sh" ~/.kde4/share/config/session gives me: actually can't find session there. Thanks for your time. |

In those files you found, is there any reference to KGpg at all? Does this occur under a new user?
