KATE doesn't tile with other windows

When Kate is opened while window tiling is active, it will at times resize to fit the appropriate scheme but won't actually be tiled with the other windows. as an example: I have both Dolphin and Konsole open. When I open Kate, the window will be resized and moved to the lower-right corner of the screen; however, it just floats above konsole rather than actually tiling. This happens regardless of whether "Float Window" is checked or not, and checking-then-unchecking the box does nothing. Is this a known bug, or does it need to be reported? Am I just missing something?

I, too have this same problem. (1.25 years later, I might add :-\ )
I've tried all manner of window rules the force Kate to tile properly, but floating seems to be hard-coded. Notably, I haven't run across any other KDE apps that behave this way (not even kwrite!). Haven't tested it on a clean install / liveCD. I'll do that, then file a report.

Did you try Configure Kate > Sessions > [ ] Include Window Configuration?

Did you mean checking or unchecking it? Either way, it doesn't help, I'm afraid.
