With 4.6 SC and also with 4.6 RCs I found out that knotes always starts up with autospell check turned on, without system tray icon and with "show the note list on trayicon click" turned off.

I wasn't able to workaround these problems neither removing config files, nor removing temp.

If these are known regressions due to the switch to akonadi, I would like to turn akonadi off. If so, how?

Can you reproduce under a new user?

On another pc with same kubuntu & kde versions I reproduced the same behavior except for autospellchecking which is checked as "on" while it doesn't seem to be running. Maybe tomorrow I'll try with a different user on the other pc, as well.

Can you verify that the appropriate aspell dictionaries are installed, and selected in System Settings > Locale > Spell Checking?

I have to say that everytime I start knotes a window titled "kresource migration tool" appears telling that "Notes has already been migrated".

Have you verified the spell checker language selection in System Settings?

If you enable automatic spell checking does it work? If it does, file a bug report, as KNotes shouldn't have it's own settings if it follows desktop-wide ones instead.

Just to notice that recently I removed kubuntu-ppa-experimental from my repository list and downgraded related packages to 4.4.9 versions. This solved these knotes issues.
