Hi there,

with KDE 4.4.4 I just plugged in my LUKS encrypted USB stick, KDE asked for the passphrase and then it was mounted.

Now I have upgraded my OpenSUSE 11.2 to KDE 4.6.0 and I have installed udisks. Now, when I plug in my encrypted USB stick I get this error after entering the passphrase:

org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)

How can this be fixed? I do not want to go back to KDE 4.4.4, only if there is no fix for this. I know SUSE did not provide udisks for openSUSE 11.2 but it was on their repo, so udisks is installed.

Thanx

you can try installing hal to see if it resolve it though you'll see multiple icons for external devices in Dolphin and device manager, etc....

As far as I know, KDE 4.6.0 has HAL disabled by default, unless you pass a certain environment variable through ~/.kde4/env/

HAL is installed on my system, it does not help. What variable do I have to set to enable it with KDE?

Code: Select all
export SOLID_HAL_LEGACY=1
