I have been using KDE4 for about a month now, and I think it is good; but I have a few problems still that are quite annoying. I am using Debian, by the way, the stable one, on an AMD64.
1) I use a program called p4v - a graphical client for Perforce. Normally, when you doubleclick on a file, it will open in whatever the associated editor is. It doesn't work anymore - nothing happens. Since the client is the same as always, I assume something must have changed in KDE4 - but what? Any ideas? 2) Some - most - of the chat programs can no longer connect to MSN. The networking is fine, so it must be in the client. aMSN is fine (but I don't really like it), Kopete seems to connect, then disconnects immediately in a loop, Pidgin simply doesn't list MSN as an option. I think I would prefer to Kopete, if possible, or at least Pidgin. Could it be an option in KDE that Kopete and Pidgin use, but not aMSN? |

1)check systemsettings -> file associations then search for the Perforce filetype
2) try Kmess "KMess is a MSN Messenger client for Linux. It enables Linux users to chat with friends online who are using MSN Messenger in Windows or Mac OS. The strength of KMess is it's integration with the KDE desktop environment,". |

Which version of Kopete do you use? Sounds like something changed in the MSN chat protocol and you run an older version.

Are the files executable? Clicking on an executable file often tries to execute it.
