PCLOS, kde 4.6.2. All latest upgrades. I've posted this to the PCLOS forum, but it's probably kde-wide. When you have accessed KSnapshot, and selected "rectangular area," the KSnapshot window stays on the screen, frequently covering up the area you want to copy. If you copy anyway, you get a picture containing the KSnapshop window. This didn't happen in kde 4.5.4, and it makes it difficult to use KSnapshot. (I don't know if there's any other
screen-capture program.) If you fix this bug, please advise, or advise me of a workaround. Thanx. dmcgarrett@optonline.net |

I could not reproduce this, with either a delay of 5 seconds or no delay. I use KDE Trunk.
Please try to reproduce under a new user, and ensure that you are somehow not accidentally bringing it back to the top.

As per suggestion, I made a new user and changed to that user. Then I tried the screensaver, and
it disappeared after I clicked on new snapshot. So what does this mean? How do I make that happen in the main user, i.e., me? I still think it's a bug. The problem doesn't exist in an older version of the same OS that I have on my laptop, just as it didn't exist on this machine until I had to reinstall. It's crazy to have to be a separate user when there is no-one else that ever uses the machine. |

try renaming your ksnapshotrc file (either ~/.kde/share/config/ksnapshotrc or ~/.kde4/share/config/ksnapshotrc)
