I've just been looking at this and have an understanding problem.
It was disabled when I opened it. Problem is that it shows my scsi home and 10k sata system disc as detachable. It also shows these as being currently disconnected as well. Bit difficult as I am using the PC. If I enable it I'm not sure if I should select mount on log in for these as they are clearly already mounted. However if I use the auto mount set up utility that may no longer the case. Main interest is that the list includes my nas which I am having problems with and I wonder if auto mounting it will help. Perhaps it might be best to play with the conf files instead but have no idea where or what they are. -

If you have already mounted a disk, using lines in fstab or similar (as root) then KDE's Auto Mounter, which uses either UDisks or HAL will not be able to change their state.
Mounting your NAS into the file system should definitely help to solve the issues you are having with it.

Opensuse 11.4 is running Udisks - thank heavens. There may be a bit of hal still kicking about but may be old stuff that hasn't been taken out of the distro. I don't want to split off into another thread on the nas really as I have started one on network/internet. - Strange behaviour.............
Using auto mount hasn't made any difference but if you look at the other post you can see that the paths do work and the problem seems to apply to none kde apps. Bad news as there will always be a number of these about. Frankly I personally can't see any point in restricting the path of an application but if there is it's gloss and other aspects are far more important at the moment. One things for sure it is purely a kde problem. -
