Hi Everyone,

I run windows 7 x64 (been running it every 9 months =) ).

I need to learn quanta as soon as possible, preferably quanta plus. I want to learn the lowest level code for quanta and I don't know if I need linux for a development OS. If someone could answer these questions and suggest any learning material/sites/forums to get me started in a compressed fashion, I would be most appreciative.

I have a prior certification in Java, I'm very familiar with OOP concepts but it's been awhile. This will be to set up an automated trading system and needs to be done ASAP.

Thank you so much!!

Quanta is an application based on KDevelop, using technology from kdelibs and Qt. It is written in C++. Quanta is used for the designing of websites, so not sure why you would be using it for a Automated Trading system.

Thanks for the reply. Basically, the guy I work for wants to get something up ASAP so I presuming that's why he mentioned quanta plus. I'll be meeting with him later but do you think I should focus on reviewing C++ and whatever libraries they have for trading instead of quanta. All I have experience with is a java cert for jre 1.6 and working with some enterprise apis, so I'm really not familiar with automated trade coding. It's a friend of the family which is why I'm trying to figure out where to go on my own as far as what I need to know, if I don't demonstrate something I might not get the job. Once again, thank you for the reply. I'm also mostly familiar with PCs so maybe linux is the place to start before I worry about IDEs or lower-level code?

C++ should be perfectly usable on either Windows or Linux. Qt might be able to help you perform some of the operations you need though.
