Kgpg unwritable error message  Topic is solved

Wed Jun 08, 2011 7:55 am
Hi,

I don't know where to ask it, since I don't know what this error message is for...

As the session opens, I have a popup error message saying (in french...)

Le fichier de configuration « ~/.kde/share/config/kgpgrc » n'est pas inscriptible.
Veuillez contacter votre administrateur système.

basically, in a more international language:
the config file ~/.kde/share/config/kgpgrc is not writable, etc...

this might or not be of importance, I don't know, but I like smooth stuff, and rather avoid error messages.
Is there any risk if I change my read/write options for this folder?
they currently are:

Owner: read and write
Group: forbidden
Others: Forbidden

User: root
Group: root

Thanks in advance!

Kgpg should be handling *your* keys, and should therefore be usable only by you. Here are my settings for that file:

-rw-------. 1 anne anne 186 Dec 4 2010 kpgprc

Hello,

Thanks for your help: modifying the R/W permission fixed this error message!

I love (K)ubuntu :)
