I've set up KDE to automatically log in as me but keep the screen locked. That way I save time and the system starts pre-loading my session (slowly I might add but I can manage).
Can I set kwallet to automatically unlock when I unlock my screen? I know It can't be done with KDM for some reason but now that I bypassed KDM, it should be possible right? |

Unfortunately the screen locking system uses a similar system to KDM for authenticating you. If you don't need your KWallet file to be protected, you could set an empty password on it.

Thanks for the reply, it's sad this is not possible. Any idea when will this be possible for the developers to implement? Which part of the Linux ecosystem needs to change?

Unfortunately I don't know much about that. KWallet is being partially rebuilt as KSecretsService (which among other things will conform to the fd.o secrets specification) so some things could change then.
Not sure when/if ksecretsservice will land however.
