I have nothing in these folders and several programs are being autostarted for no reason. Chromium, nautilus, Okular, and quadrapassel are the programs being started. I have nothing in my .bashrc. Not sure where else to look. I have no idea why this is happening and it is driving me crazy.

Code: Select all
~/.config/autostart/
$KDEHOME/Autostart

I tried to follow this guide in reverse with no luck.

What are your session settings in System Settings? (Startup and Shutdown -> Session Management.)

What should I be looking for? Its setup to start a new session each time.

Actually the screenshot shows that it is set to restore the previous session. Change it to "Start with Empty Session".

Does it ignore the default leave option that says "End current session"?

After reading this it makes me think it does.

The default leave option is something different. That is controlling the default selection between Logout/Restart/Shutdown when you ask to "Leave" your desktop.

As "Restore previous session" is selected, then your system will automatically save your session prior to ending it.

I assume you mean like this?

Can you explain why it doesn't restart now that I click the leave button?

The Kickoff menu does not invoke that functionality (as it is for a seperate dialog). If you use the traditional menu, then you will see the selection being honoured.
