scripting API / Python

Fri Apr 27, 2012 9:59 am
Hi,
I am looking for information on how to use Python scripts with Kexi.
I haven't found any online documention about Kexi's API which applies to Kexi 2.4

Many thanks for some pointers,
Helmut.

Re: scripting API / Python  Topic is solved

Hello Helmut,
Python scripting support has experimental status in Kexi. As the result, documentation is nonexistent and/or not maintained, the API would change without notice. There's nice tutorial though: http://userbase.kde.org/Kexi/Tutorials/ ... ebook_Data

Due to some constraints (one of them is security), we head to promote use of JavaScript in future Kexi versions. If there are contributors willing to make Python scripting shine and maintain its state, everything is possible. I am assuring that Scripting (regardless of what language is picked) is a top priority for Kexi.
