Writing and using scripts in Kexi

Tue Jul 03, 2012 10:14 pm
Hi Guys:
I am new to Kexi. Can I code in Kexi? For example: In Access when I loose focus on the Last name of a Parent I can have the Last name of a child equal the last name of the Parent. I imagine scripts can be used for this, but how do I assign them to a field or text box?

I would like to thank you guys in advance.

Dear Alvin,
Scripting in Kexi always existed as experimental feature, thus not recommended for production because in the future existing scripts would no longer work. If this is acceptable, Python and Ruby scripts can be created. Please see this article by Adam, Kexi developer at http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/10828. If you google for "kexi scripting" you may find more.

We're aiming at support for convenient JavaScript development in Kexi 3.x.
