Hello Darrell,
For mobile devices we have developed reduced version of Kexi which lack "designer" parts. The idea seems to be natural - Kexi Mobile can be used as a viewer. The device was Nokia N900 with maemo 5 back then, in 2010: http://www.piggz.co.uk/?page=blogentry&id=60 http://www.piggz.co.uk/?page=blogentry&id=61 This version could be ported to N9/N950 too. Nobody tried to port to others platforms such as WindowsCE, Symbian or any other platform for which Qt is officially available. Porting should be possible without massive changes in the code with exception to graphical interface (to make it look and feel native). Unless successors of WindowsCE (such as Windows 7/8) support Qt development, Kexi won't be available there. The same applies to many portable applications. At the moment development of the mobile branch of Kexi is stalled (up for adoption/sponsoring). We're tracking this development at http://community.kde.org/Kexi/Mobile. Modern application (e.g. for Android or MeeGo and derivatives) would benefit from porting the GUI to QML. |
