import from command line

Thu Sep 13, 2012 8:24 am
Hi,

I'd like to ask if it's possible to import a mdb database from command line, as kexi currently has de best import tool for mdb files imo.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I am assuming 'headless' (non-interactive) mode is what you mean.

Otherwise if you run command as below, Kexi should attempt to import the file interactively:
Code: Select all
kexi path/to/file.mdb

Kexi has many command line options but migration features are at planning stage: http://www.kexi-project.org/wiki/wikivi ... tions.html

This could be quite easy to add for 2.6 (it's quite late) or for 2.7 I guess - if you'd be so kind to file a wish on bugs.kde.org...

Thanks for the quick answer!

I saw some command line options with kexi --help, and I was wondering if it were possible to import from it so I don't have to follow the import wizard every time. Now I see it's still todo.

Thanks anyway for the good job with Kexi, it's a great software, as the whole calligra suite. I'll fill a bug report with the wish.
