Will Kexi handle file locking similar to Alpha 4 and FileMaker?

Hi gate714.
Regarding .kexi files (SQLite3-based), file locking is not performed. We have file locking for now unsupported 1.x version on Windows to avoid multiple opening of the same file.

Because SQLite 3 has advanced locking functionality, Kexi may choose to reuse it in the future. There's also fact: Multiple processes can have the same database open at the same time. Multiple processes can be doing a SELECT at the same time. But only one process can be making changes to the database at any moment in time, however.

Kexi is multiuser when running on top of MySQL or PostgreSQL.
It works even when we lack handy commands such as "Reload data" or various notifications about data being changed by another user.

Hope this explains a bit; should you mean other types of locking, please ask...
