When I open Kexi, the "Welcome to Kexi" screen appears. It lists a bunch of icons that represent all of the kexi databases that I have opened previously. Is there any way to edit the number of icons that appear on this screen? I want to make it as simple as possible when others use my computer. I looked at the kexirc file but didn't see anything that would remedy this.
Thanks, Kexian kexi 2.4.1 |

In command line type: kde4-config --localprefix
It will reveal path to local KDE settings directory of your account, e.g. /home/me/.kde. Then in directory /home/me/.kde/share/apps/kexi/recent_projects/ there are files that contain references to recently opened projects. If you remove these files no recent files will be displayed on the Welcome screen. Of course after some time, the list will be filled again. For now it's not possible without modifications to Kexi's source code (let me know if you require this nonstandard behaviour). "The right way" could be: - ability of hiding the Welcome screen - replacing the screen with custom one Kexi will offer that as a tool for creating completely custom business apps. |

If you wanted to suppress or lock down the projects listed in "Recent Projects" then you could try a similar approach to what can be used to disable the "Recent Documents" tab in Kickoff.
Simply revoke write permissions on the directory /home/me/.kde/share/apps/kexi/recent_projects/. If you want to disable it, chmod 000 should do the trick.
