Web Forms / Web Frontend in Kexi

Sun May 05, 2013 7:03 am
Hi,

are there any news to Kexi Web Forms or a Web Frontend. For me it would be enough to be able to view queries through a browser.

This seems to be a little outdated:

Hello, Web Forms are disabled as not maintained.

Open questions include architecture of the solution. Local connection within the same host is quite easy, remote connection need appropriate configuration of the HTTP(S) service. Also, using only two layers means that user(s) connect to your instance of Kexi. If you close it, the service disappears. Similarly, if this instance is busy the connected users have to wait. Using three layers (database, multiprocess kexi server, kexi instances for native experience) instead of two layers adds a lot of complexity but is more proper, ultimate solution.

This interesting subproject is awaiting for contributor willing to join us, develop and maintain :) She/he would receive appropriate support of course.
