Hi,

I have just installed Calligra 2.7.1 on Ubuntu 12.04LTS using the version from "ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports". I launch Kexi and select New>Blank database> Storage method = File > Project Title = test and file = /home/greg/Test.kexi. I then click the create table button in the top left corner and the table design window opens. In the first row I give field caption the value "test" and set data type to TEXT. I believe at this point the Property Editor should have some info in it when I select the "test" row but it stays blank.

How do I use the propety editor and/or create and save a new table in a new database file. Please help a newbie, thanks in advance.

There would appear to be a serious bug in version 2.7.1. I have installed 2.4.0 on another Ubuntu 12.04LTS machine just using the default version that Ubuntu supplies and it works as expected. I can create tables now. :)

EDIT: The issue was this bug - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323804

Can anyone tell me when the ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports will be updated to 2.7.3 which is the version required to fix this bug? For the moment I have purged this ppa from my system and rolled back to version 2.4.0.

Hi, that's right and I am sorry, the issue was detected too late and it's fixed in 2.7.3 which is planned for 11 September. This patch, if applied to 2.7, will fix the issue - please contact with the (K)Ubuntu folks so maybe they can do that or please wait a bit to the 2.7.3 release.

I have the same problem.
I have just installed calligra on Lubuntu 13.10. I have installed the version 1.2.7.2-0ubuntu2.
I cannot create a new table in a new database, I cannot create the rimary key and when I try to save the table, it says that it is requireds at least one field definition to create the table.

I have also another problem: I cannot load the template provided. It says that the tempaltes are not available for this version of Kexi

TIA,
Silvano

Hi Silvano,
Please upgrade to 2.7.3 or later and try again.

Regarding templates, they are really not available, so those icons will be hidden in 2.8 to avoid confusion.

the repository I am using, still have 2.7.2. Which repository shall I use?

Thanks again.
