Default value?

Sat Aug 31, 2013 12:19 am
Is there any way to enter a default value in a numerical field such as "0"(zero)? Currently, if I leave a numeric field blank, I get "undefined" value when I create reports.
Also, how can I format floating point values to 2 decimal places? It would make handling currency so much easier.

Thanks,
wmae

Hi wmae, there is Defalt value property when you select fields in Table Designer. For that use the property editor on the right hand. Changing this property does not remove data from table, so it's safe to test it.

To set two visible decimal places please use the same property editor - change the Visible Decimal Places property to 2. Changing this property unfortunately does remove data from table. Changing this property does not remove data from table, so it's safe to test it, except for one case: changing from "Default" to any integer value. (hmm, we should improve that if possible).

A much more general defect has now been fixed at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=325070, thanks to your note, wmae 8-) Will be released with 2.7.4, can be also compiled now by those that can compile Kexi by hand.

Thanks, and please continue the good work!
