Kexi Reports by design have the behaviour as you explained, a bug elsewhere prevented it from working.

unfortunately I'll not be able to enjoy the correction since at the time I'm not able to have «neon» running properly. and consequently I have not Kexi 2.4.7. I check again when I have more time and have upgraded to Mint16.

This will be in 2.8.0. Alternatively if you compile from source code after this Saturday, you could get the fix.
