Mint16 upgraded my kexi to 2.7.2, … and I can no longer modify queries. When I modify a query using the gui the save button doesn't light.
Modifying by the SQL lights this button, but the links between the tables may disappear. Conclusion, at the time my Kexi is out of order. |

i'm having the same problem. Creating a new table is also not working. Is there any lib missing? How can it be fixed?
Thanks for any help Best regards |

Hello, please look at bugs fixed in Kexi 2.7.3: http://www.calligra.org/news/calligra-2-7-3-released. It's a software that has been released over 2 months ago... In particular this fix can be on topic: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323804
We have 2.7.5 already since 3 weeks with more bugs. On the announcement page quite a few distributions already offer 2.7.4 or 2.7.5. Like openSUSE (it even has newer than 2.7.5 in KDE_Release_411_openSUSE_13.1) or Kubuntu. We need users of these distros publishing installation hints on this forum after every release. From the statistics it seems that openSUSE and (K)ubuntu are the most popular. I encourage talking to creators of your OS or looking for distribution that updates Kexi more quickly. Please let us know at this forum how you succeeded with that. We're working on deployment solution to give you updates the next day after release, eg. virtualization. Happy new year! Regards! |

I noticed yet that further revision is available to people able to compile, which is not my case, as I reported previously. I try again when I have received my main computer fixed.
At the time Lubuntu (and I guess, all its relatives) displays the 1:2.6.3 |

Thanks jstaniek for the information.
I already made a post on LM forum asking for upgrade of the repositories. I made the download of Calligra 2.7.3 but my knowledge of compiling is not enough to install the suite (no configure file?) Is there any tutorial for dummies on that? Best regards |

Hi Marcelos, Cool, please look, 2.7.5 is the most current, and as usual in software the most current is recommended, not 2.7.3 unless there are reasons not to upgrade. Information about the newest releases can be spotted at http://www.kexi-project.org and http://calligra.org. I've just updated the Get Calligra page at http://www.calligra.org/get-calligra. It leads to building instructions: http://community.kde.org/Calligra/Building. |

Hi jstaniek
Thaks for the help. but looking the tutorial was a bit scaring for my short knowledge. i could not understand what was the "main road" of the installation process. And by the end was not clear how to run the aplicattion. I hope LM will soon update the repository. Thanks once more Marcelo 21/12 Hi again I just manage to install Kexi 2.7.5 by adding the ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports. So far it works OK. Thanks and have a nice Christmas! |

hi
i just wannaa try kexi so i thought the quickest way is to download kubuntu live cd image so i downloaded kubuntu-13.10-desktop-i386.iso..and install it on vmplayer 6.0.1. once installed i fired up kexi just to konw i cant create tables whenever i tried to save a table it gives me a message that i haven't created any fields....finally after 2 hrs head banging and some googling i came to know that kexi version that comes with ubuntu is old 2.7.2 when i tried to update it ...it turns out that there are no update available on default repositories .....so i tried adding that backport repo .... and after that it gave me a error about dependencies ...... so i had enough of kubuntu and decided to try chakara .... its still downloading .... lets see how that gose ....i hope kexi is worth all that trouble .....

Hi farooqhasny, As you see above, marcelos was able to get 2.7.5 on Kubuntu/Ubuntu. If you see any issues about dependencies please paste error messages here. Dependencies should be resolved automatically. Anyone having no access to up-to-date Kexi, please let us know here and also gently complain to the authors of the distribution you're using. This is a must to move forward... |

Just as Marcelos noted above, I was able to add the following ppa to software manager in Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon (64-bit), making Kexi 2.7.5 available. Kexi appears to function fine now.
ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports |
