Data not being saved

Thu Jan 26, 2017 11:39 am
Hi All
I hope someone can help me out. I'm running Kexi 2.9.11 on PClinuxOS 64-bit.

I have built a Database of my Members of a Group I run. When I designed my Form I was unable to get Drop-Down Boxes to work and mis-typed one field as "Text" when it should have been "Image"
I still have a problem with Drop-Down Boxes but am hoping the new version of Kexi will help me solve this as and when I can get it as it's not available yet in my Distro.
In the past I have tried to make changes and corrections to my Form and I keep getting a Warning Box that says "All the Table Data will be deleted".
So I'm asking if this is standard procedure and if so I guess the only way round this is to export all my data out to a CSV file, make the corrections and then re-import my data back into the Project. Am I right??
Secondly the corrected Image Box I managed to change but it will not save any image I put in it. But yesterday, without thinking about it, I added an image and it saved correctly!! This made me very happy - so I started to add the others. The Image is the Flag of the Country where the Member lives and after doing about 300 records I realised that as the aspect ratio of the World's Flags vary the result was not very good. I remember reading in the Kexi Handbook about being able to "Stretch" an Image to fill the available space so tried this. In Design Mode I set the Image's 'Scaled Contents' to 'YES" and this worked perfectly filling the box every time which looks much better.
So I carried on adding others. But on going back found that ALL the 300+ Flags I had added had been deleted!! And now the Box is not saving any images at all again!!
What is causing this and how can I cure this VERY annoying problem? What am I not understanding??

Thanks for any help!!
