Hello everybody,

first of all thanks for all the work on Kexi!
I'm coming from Filemaker Pro on OSX and have two questions:
- The date format is displayed correctly on my tables and forms (DD.MM.YY) but its always YYYY-MM-DD on my report, a bug, or is there a way to change that?
- It would be great to be able to duplicate a form / form-entry, right now I have to manually copy/paste all field entries. Or am I doing it wrong? :)

I'm on Debian 9 stable with this appimage:
Version 3.1 Alpha (3.0.90, git 7e783f1)

Thanks!

Hello to another Filemaker user!

A bug since 3.0 and we plan to turn back to flexibility.

Form designs can be duplicated by opening the original in Design view and Clicking Save As from the Form menu:

https://share.kde.org/index.php/s/tvD3IDUQ54ZDUeP

Also great to see 3.1 Alpha in use, unfortunately AppImage are not updated (until we find supporters that update them). No technical reasons, just the cost.

Thanks for the answer, Jaroslaw!

But with the duplicate feature I meant something else. It was about duplicating the data in a form. Like pressing Command-D on Filemaker on a Mac.
So when I want to make a new form entry that's similar to an older one, I don't have to copy and paste from the different fields.

Also when I'm in tables-design and want to change the type of a field, like from date/time to text, all the data in the tables will be deleted. Is that a bug?

Sorry, my english is not the best...

Sorry for the confusion, Winni. Yes that would make sense!
Entering a new wish for this feature is the fastest way to make sure it's seen: https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=kexi

Before duplicating of records is available, these are workarounds for my understanding:
- copying given fields using clipboard copy-paste
- setting default values for given columns in the Table Design (good news is that the problem from point 2. does not apply here, data is not lost when you manipulate default values)

It's a hard to deliver missing feature "Add support for alter table's design without losing data"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125253

It's frequently noted by users and we want to have eventually. Sorry.
