Error with Kexi 3 on Manjaro

Wed May 30, 2018 12:10 pm
Hi.
Taking your advice to move on from Mint I upgraded one office machine to latest Manjaro this past weekend.
Installed kexi3 (ver. 3.1.0-1) and filled in the blanks but get an error when trying to make a 'Test Connection'.
Code: Select all
Message from server: Cannot load library /usr/lib/qt/plugins/kdb3/kdb_postgresqldriver.so:
(libpq.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
Help from Manjaro forum indicates the following.

You are missing a library file
... get a listing of any libpq* files installed.

Code: Select all
pacman -Q1 | grep libpq  # that's an ell after the Q
As no output from: above so it would appear that no libpq* files installed

If there is no listing for libpq then there’s a missing package file. Checking the “optional dependencies” of kdb:

Next step:
Code: Select all
$ pacman -Si kdb
Repository      : extra
Name            : kdb
Version         : 3.1.0-2
...
Depends On      : kcoreaddons
Optional Deps   : libmariadbclient: MySQL plugin
                  postgresql: PostgreSQL plugin
I can see there’s an optional dependency on postgresql, which I’m going to assume will provide libpq.

Is this a correct assessment? What is my next move?

Hi,

I see this exact issue is discussed on github just over a year back but I am not sure whether this is now generally resolved

Hi,

I really should RTFM Manjaro. The postgresql driver is under 'Optional Dependencies'. Installation completed.
