Hello
When I put the interface in French the names of objects with accents generate problems
this is seen in the properties of the objects name, text
I think UFT-8 is not well configured?

Re: problem UFT-8 in properties

Hi ptijoz !
Assuming that Nom means Name, by definition this property only supports latin-1 characters, so no utf at all. It's typical in programming. I see that the person who did the French translation did not translate it properly.

Vincent PINON <vpinon@kde.org>. Feel free to email him and point this forum topic.
Place of the bug: line 5724 of https://websvn.kde.org/branches/stable/ ... iew=markup:

msgstr "étiquette"

Should be: msgstr "etiquette"

Here is explanation:

"A prefix for identifiers of label widgets. Based on that, identifiers such "
5717 "as label1, label2 are generated. This string can be used to refer the widget "
5718 "object as variables in programming languages or macros so it must _not_ "
5719 "contain white spaces and non latin1 characters, should start with lower case "
5720 "letter and if there are subsequent words, these should start with upper case "
5721 "letter. Example: smallCamelCase. Moreover, try to make this prefix as short "
5722 "as possible."

Other widgets may have the same bug.

Feel free to report bug at https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?prod ... mat=guided and we'll assign it to Vincent.

PS: In future KEXI we may be able to detect such bugs and if ther's a bug for given widget type - automatically revert to english names until the bug is fixes.

Before Vincent fixes the thanslation for KEXI 3.2 final you workaround could be that you rename each invalid name by hand, e.g. change é to e. Or use English localization.

Hello
Thank you for these explanations and thank you for opening a ticket incident.
For me, it's not a problem to put the interface in English. However it is better that it works without bug in all languages.
Best regards

ptijoz, bug can appear in more than one language and in each case it belongs to the translations team which is separate from KEXI programmers.
Like in this case - the bug comes from the French translation team.
Would you be able to file a bug and/or contact Vincent PINON <vpinon@kde.org>?

By the way, it may be useful to correct subject of this thread because the problem is only with the "name" property. Any other property of text type supports unicode.

Hello
- I sent an email to vpinon with the link
- Give me the exact title to replace on this forum and I will change it.
Best regards

Thanks Ptijoz for informing the translator. I already edited the subject, unfortunately only the top one, not the replies, but it's OK as it is.
