I just learned about Kexi from HackerNews, it sounds great and I really want to try it out!
I always scan everything with VirusTotal before installing. I downloaded 3.2.0 file http://ftp.kddlabs.co.jp/pub/X11/kde/stable/kexi/win64/KEXI_3.2.0_Preview_2019-04-01_(e2eb6f465)_Win64.exe from this page https://download.kde.org/stable/kexi/win64/KEXI_3.2.0_Preview_2019-04-01_(e2eb6f465)_Win64.exe.mirrorlist However, VirusTotal reports 2 x suspicious Scan results are shown here: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/175af04e3a0d715d88ddd5f0ab7c6f10610ff1b292fcc0980115576c46b4f534/detection i.e. #1 "Bkav" software reports: HW32.Packed #2 "Trapmine" software reports: Malicious.moderate.ml.score I assume these are both false positives? Could someone with authority please check when they have time to verify? I downloaded a previous version of Kexi, version 3.1 and it scans as 100% clean, so I will try that version i.e. this file http://ftp.kddlabs.co.jp/pub/X11/kde/stable/kexi/win64/KEXI_3.1.0_Preview_2018-03-12_(41dff828c)_Win64.exe from here: https://download.kde.org/stable/kexi/win64/KEXI_3.1.0_Preview_2018-03-12_(41dff828c)_Win64.exe.mirrorlist VirusTotal result here: (clean) https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/ec414c6d06cee3ff1761f1e34195121ce5018bc3194a6d1e0c57b55b27403c0b/detection |

Hi mmerlin
Thanks for the question. For my understanding of the VT it is most likely false positive, it's not Virus Total that reports this but 66 (or so) 3rd-party AV apps. 65 of 66 apps do not report this. Yes, heuristics produce false positives. You may want to also try the snapshots from https://community.kde.org/Kexi/Snapshots#Windows : https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kexi_Release_win64/ and https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Kexi_Nightly_win64/ They are not built on my machine but on KDE servers. If that differs for you. PS: I edited your post to indicate 3.2.0 not 3.20 |
