I have not been able to export a table with 64 fields (of types text, int,Float, date, and check box). (No Objects)
This is story: 1. The table and an associated form work perfectly. 2. I export the table in .csv format with delimiters of comma and " characters. I Also check the add column names in first row box. 3. The data looks good when examining it with a spreadsheet program. 4. Then Import the .csv file back to the same table after some data updates. I ensure that any fields that I update are the same data type. (I do not make any changes to the table design at all) I ensure that delimiters are correct and the first column is a primary key. 5. Unfortunatly the table remains unchanged. 6. I have had instances where several identical records are imported . (example: table has 10 records, and I export it. Then import , and have 40 records , 4 copys of each original record) I would not bother you with this unless I had already spent a lot of effort trying to get a workaround. I have several tables with < 10 fields and they seem to work fine. Any help appreciated. The only workaround I have come up with, is to import to a new table but this "Disconnects" the associated form from the original Table and I have to manually reassociate every widget on the form linked to the old table. Renaming the new table to the original table doesn't help. (Windows 10. acts the same on several computers) Thanks for any assistance... I really like the Kexi Database..it is VERY intuitive and makes applications very straightforward... O |

Thanks electricalengineer, I will check the case of 64 columns of CSV. But in case it's not a problem of column count but some specific CSV data, I'd appreciate if you send a sample file (of its fragment) to kexi@kde.org (subscription at https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kexi) or file a bug (https://community.kde.org/Kexi/File_a_bug_or_wish) with the sample attached.
Thanks for using Kexi. |
