Using Kexi for Business

Wed Jul 14, 2021 10:34 pm
I'm slightly illiterate with some of the proper terminology, so pardon if I don't communicate with the same language on the Kexi program. I also apologize if this question has been asked or is redundant.

I'm a long time Microsoft user, with more recent knowledge acquired in Access. I'm trying to build a database on Kexi for my business. One of the things I could do on Access is insert a Table that has already been created into a form. For instance: I have a form created to keep up with employees. I want to be able to see things like assets specifically assigned to the employee or classes they have taught recently show up on a tabbed page. In Access, it's as simple as dragging the table over to the form in Design mode. I am unable to do that and honestly don't know how to look it up. Any ideas on how I can do this?

I was made aware through an email to the developer that this isn't a current feature available. What would it take to get it included?

Hi
Thanks for trying KEXI.

It seems that what you're looking for is a subform feature displayed in a tabular mode. Like this in MS Access:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/off ... formbasics

Is that right?

Best Regards

Did you find the answer to this question? I'm also looking for a similar feature, and I don't know what I have to do to reach it. I have browsed an insane amount of forums, and I couldn't find an efficient answer anywhere. I even found some videos on youtube related to this topic. However, there wasn't anything that would work for me, and I didn't know what else to do. I truly need it as I want my business to grow, to reach a global level. After reading the benefits of doing it on innovation-park.eu, I'm decided to do everything to reach my goals.

I've been working on Access for a long time, and now I would also like to try Kexi. But, I don't know why I cannot access some of the crucial features I had on Access. Honestly, that upsets me very much. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, and I tried to google it, and I even found some threads on various forums regarding this issue. However, there is nothing that works out for me. I'm creating my new business soon, so I need to solve this as soon as possible. I have already got my business license, and I have to admit that I was surprised by how expensive it is. However, I was prepared for it, as I found information about the license on licensecost.com. I would recommend everyone to check this info there before getting the license.

From what I understand, you're looking to create a form for your employees where you can see specific assets assigned to them or classes they've taught recently. In Kexi, you'll need to create a subform for each of these items, then add those subforms to your main form. It's a bit of a process, but once you get the hang of it, it should be no problem! If you're still having trouble, I suggest looking up some tutorials or videos on creating subforms in Kexi. There are plenty of resources out there to help you out. On another note, I recently found some experts who deal with Magento performance and speed optimization at https://transformagency.com/magento-per ... imization/. While it's not directly related to your question, it's always good to keep in mind ways to optimize your business's technology. Good luck with your database building!
