Making new Openbsd server and running Postgresql 14

Old server was running PG 8.*

From plain text backup (editing oids to 'false') I get the database + data to the new machine, and I can see this all. But connecting with Kexi while it shows structure there is no data loaded.

If I connect with Kexi to PG and create a new database and a new table same as the old then I get the error:

Saving “books” object failed.
Saving object's definition failed.
Transaction not started.

So I wondered it there is a major issue here, or can a recommended path be suggested?

I exported in tab-delimited format from PG14 and then into a .kexi file which will do me for now while I figure out what I have done wrong
