Hi,
I'm a newbie on SQL. In fact I'm trying to learn it. So I created a simple database with a three columns (plus an uniqe id); one containing text and to others with integers. Now I want to summarize, get average and such from the two colums -- I can't as I get invalid syntax. Kexi is happy to yield the results from ie. column minus or plus another, so it seems I'm doing this right. After a bit of googling I find issues with this dating back to 2007, 2008 and it not beeing supported. Now it's 2012 -- still not implemented? Any workaround? |

Hi John, I am sorry but aggregation is not implemented in Kexi 2.4 or earlier and there is no 100% workaround. All I can say is:
- for equivalent of max(), min() users run the query in data view sorted using given column; there's no even remote equivalent of avg(), etc. - aggregation is planned (as high priority item) this year for Kexi 2.5. I am also hoping for more frequent major releases - that is the case for all Calligra apps. |
