Hello, I'm using KDE 4.8.1.
I detected, when you right clic in dolphin and select New -> Text Document, the new txt document has a white space and a line break on it. It's that normal or is this a bug?

I don't see this

if you login as a new user do you still see this?

Here you have the difference betwen a new document from Dolphin (Archivo de texto) and one document directly from bash (Archivo de texto2):

one file is an empty document* with file type application/x-zerosize the other is an empty text file with file type text/plain - the files are not equivalent

* to create it I used command touch file_name
